Mystic Seaport Museum
BAC was awarded the contract to demolish the existing and construct the new shiplift for the Mystic Seaport Museum. The project was designed by Rolls Royce and inspected by Lloyds of London Engineers. The new lift is used to lift antique ships from the water for required repairs.
The project included the complete demolition and disposal of the existing marine structures, the installation of the new foundation piles, precast concrete pile caps, structural steel, exotic hardwood decking, steel sheetpile bulkhead with anchor system, timber fender systems, winching systems, articulated heavy lift structural steel lift platform, and all required utilities.
BAC received an award for "Pile Driving Project of the Year" from the Pile Driving Contractors Association.
